Cambridge English Exams is a part of the University of Cambridge and prepares English Learners for diplomas that are recognized around the world. These exams help children and adults to obtain an English level to help them enter into English programs, universities and English speaking countries.

For the 2018 and 2019 school year Lovin’ English@CSND had the pleasure of training 82 youth for the Cambridge English Exams. These students trained with Lovin’ English native English teachers from 21 hours a year to 45 hours a year. They are enthusiastic students who are a joy to teach. Most importantly, they all succeeded in earning a diploma. The levels are Young Learners pre A1 “starters” ;A1 “movers”; A2 “Flyers”; A2 KET, B1 PET and C1 Advanced.

One of the highlights of the exams was the presentation to 4 students in 4eme who obtained the B1 level in English, a first for CSND. Another highlight was 1 BTS CSND Business School student Maelle who took the Advanced test and obtained the Proficiency level in English, the highest level possible

We had the pleasure of celebrating their success with a graduation ceremony held at CSND Lycée Notre Dame on October 14th with over 230 parents and supporters in attendance. The students were given the traditional graduation hat called the “mortarboard” to wear and received their diplomas individually while marching to the traditional Anglophone music called “Pomp and Circumstance”. Mr. Audard, the Coordinator for CSND spoke about the importance of English in our lives and congratulated the children and teachers for all their hard work. He also thanked each Directrice for arranging the schedules thus allowing their students to do this extra-curricular activity. Andrew Spraggins, the Director of Cambridge for the region and adjoint for ESTRI at the Ucly, spoke about the students excellent results and the doors that will open worldwide if they continue on this path. Maelle Banor, one of the Cambridge Diploma recipients (proficiency level) spoke about the impact that having this diploma will have on her life. Lesa Stringer, the Managing Director of Lovin’English, hosted the ceremony and thanked all the English teachers at CSND for their great work and also expressed the joy it is to teach the children because of their great attitudes.

At the end of the ceremony the students had the chance to throw their hats into the air! To finish, delicious cocktails served for everyone This year at CSND there are over 135 students training for the Cambridge exams.

A big thank you to Florian Mallet for setting up all the chairs and tables, Florian Giroud and his staff for the great food, and finally Sandrine Poulard, the Managing Assistant for Lovin’English for her continued implication and support.

Pour les années scolaires 2018 et 2019, Lovin ’English @ CSND a eu le plaisir de former 82 jeunes aux examens anglais de Cambridge. Ces
étudiants ont suivi une formation de 21 à 45 heures par an auprès de professeurs d’anglais de langue maternelle anglaise. Ce sont des étudiants enthousiastes et participatifs.
Plus important encore, ils ont tous obtenu un diplôme. Les niveaux sont les suivants: Young Learners pre A1 “starters” ; A1 “movers”; A2 “Flyers”; A2 KET, B1 PET and C1 Advanced.
Nos points forts des examens ont été la présentation de 4 étudiants de 4ème qui ont obtenu le niveau B1 en anglais, une première pour le CSND.
Et aussi, Maelle, une élève de BTS CSND Business School, qui a présenté le test C1 Advanced et a obtenu le niveau de compétence supérieur en anglais : C2 Proficiency, le niveau le plus élevé possible.
Nous avons eu le plaisir de célébrer leur succès en organisant une cérémonie de remise des diplômes au Lycée Notre Dame du CSND le 14
Octobre 2019, en présence de plus de 230 parents et amis.
Les étudiants ont reçu et porté le traditionnel chapeau appelé « Mortarboard » et ont reçu leurs diplômes individuellement en marchant sur
la musique anglophone traditionnelle appelée «Pomp and Circumstance».
M. Audard, le coordinateur du CSND, a parlé de l’importance de l’anglais dans nos vies et a félicité les enfants et les enseignants pour leur travail intensif. Il a également remercié chaque directrice d’avoir organisé les horaires, permettant ainsi aux étudiants de participer à cette activité extrascolaire.
Andrew Spraggins, directeur du Centre d’Examen Cambridge pour la région et adjoint pour ESTRI à l’Ucly, a parlé des excellents résultats des étudiants et des portes qui s’ouvriront dans le monde entier s’ils continuent sur cette voie.
Maelle Banor, notre diplômée de Cambridge (C2 Proficiency) a parlé de l’impact que ce diplôme aura sur sa vie.
Lesa Stringer, directrice générale de Lovin’English, a animé la cérémonie et a remercié tous les professeurs d’anglais du CSND pour leur excellent travail.
Elle a également exprimé la joie d’enseigner aux enfants grâce à leur excellente attitude.
À la fin de la cérémonie, les étudiants ont eu le bonheur tant attendu de lancer leur chapeau en l’air! Cette année au CSND, plus de 135 étudiants se préparent aux examens de Cambridge.
La cérémonie s’est terminée par un délicieux cocktail servis à tous.
